Scholarships
South Plantation High School Friends of the Theatre takes great pride in being able to award scholarships each year to South Plantation High School seniors enrolled in the theatre program.
- Candidates must be a senior at SPHS
- Be an active participant in the SPHS theatre program
- Have been inducted into the International Thespian Society
- Maintain a minimum unweighted GPA of 2.5
- Submit an essay on the following topic: “My proudest accomplishment as a Paladin Player in the SPHS Drama Program”.
- Award amount per scholarship $1000
- Deadline for application and essay submitted, in a sealed envelop, to Jason Zembuch no later than Monday, April 15, 2011.
Recipients need not pursue a degree in theatre but they must attend an accredited institution such as a community college, technical school, college or university.
The scholarship winners will be announced at a date to be determined.

The Friends of the Theater awarded it's 2011 graduating senior scholarships last week. Each scholarship was worth $1,000.00. It was a tough decision to select the winners and we wish we could have handed out scholarships to every candidate but unfortunately, we could only select four. The recipients of the scholarships were:
- Santiago Carrasquilla
- Chelsea Dexter
- John Encalada
- Rachel Gonzalez
Congratulations to our four scholarship recipients and to all our graduating senior thespians!!! We wish you all the best as your take the next step in your journey through life!!
